As of today [ September 15 2025 ], the PRC supervises 45 Professional Regulatory Boards, each tasked with regulating a particular profession or group of related professions. These boards are composed of a chairperson and two members (sometimes more, depending on the profession) who are appointed by the President of the Philippines upon the recommendation of the PRC.
Functions of the Professional Regulatory Boards
1. Administration of Licensure Examinations
One of the primary functions of the PRBs is to prepare, conduct, and grade licensure examinations for aspiring professionals. Whether it is for nurses, engineers, teachers, or architects, these exams are designed to measure the competence of graduates and determine if they are fit to practice their chosen professions.

4. Promotion of Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
