Common Errors in PRC Online Registration and How to Fix Them

The Professional Regulation Commission in the Philippines has simplified many of its services by offering online registration through the Licensure Examination and Registration Information System (LERIS). With this platform, applicants can schedule appointments, renew IDs, and even apply for licensure examinations without the hassle of long queues.

However, despite its convenience, many users still encounter errors and issues when registering or using the PRC online system. These errors often lead to delays, frustration, or incomplete applications. The good news is that most of these problems can be easily resolved with the right steps.

1. Incorrect Personal Information

The Issue

Applicants sometimes enter the wrong details during registration, such as misspelled names, incorrect birthdates, or mismatched gender. Since PRC records must match the information in government-issued IDs and school records, even minor errors can cause verification problems later on.

How to Fix Incorrect Personal Information

Double check before saving: Always review your entries carefully before submitting.
Request correction: If you already submitted incorrect details, you can email PRC at [technicalassistance@prc.gov.ph](mailto:technicalassistance@prc.gov.ph) or visit the nearest PRC office with supporting documents (valid ID, PSA birth certificate, school credentials).
Bring proof: Make sure you carry the original and photocopies of your documents when requesting corrections.

2. Wrong Email Address or Forgotten Password

The Issue

Many users forget the email address they used during registration or enter an invalid email. This becomes a problem because the PRC system requires email verification for account access and password recovery.

How to Fix It

Use your active email: Register only with an email you regularly check.
Password reset: If you forgot your password, click the “Forgot Password” option on the login page and follow the instructions sent to your email.
Create a new account: If you can’t recover your account, you may register again using a valid email. However, make sure not to duplicate records. If duplication occurs, request for merging at a PRC office.

3. Uploading an Invalid or Incorrect Photo

The Issue

One of the most frequent errors is uploading a photo that does not meet PRC’s requirements. Common mistakes include using selfies, pictures with backgrounds, or images wearing glasses and accessories.

How to Fix It

PRC has strict photo guidelines

  1. White background only.

  2. Formal attire (collared shirt for men, blouse for women).

  3. No eyeglasses, earrings, or hats.

  4. Photo must be 2×2 size, in JPEG format, and should not exceed 80 kb.

  5. Should be recently taken (within 6 months).

If you uploaded the wrong photo, delete it and re upload a compliant picture. Some applicants may need to visit PRC to replace their incorrect photo in the system.

4. Record Not Found Error

The Issue

During registration, some applicants encounter the “Record Not Found” message when they enter their details. This usually happens for first time board exam applicants or when records from schools have not been updated in the PRC database.

How to Fix It

  • Check spelling: Ensure your name and details match your school records.
  • Contact your school: Ask if they have already submitted your graduation list to PRC.
  • Visit PRC: If the issue persists, you may need to go to the PRC office for manual verification.

5. Payment Issues

The Issue

Sometimes, applicants experience failed payments, double charges, or payments not reflecting in their PRC account. This often occurs when using online payment channels like GCash, PayMaya, or banks.

How to Fix It

  1. Wait for confirmation: It may take a few hours for payments to reflect.
  2. Check transaction history: Save your payment receipt or screenshot.
  3. Contact PRC or the payment provider: If payment is deducted but not reflected, coordinate with both PRC and your payment channel.
  4. Avoid multiple attempts: Wait for confirmation before trying again to prevent double charges.

6. Slow or Unresponsive Website

The Issue

During peak periods, especially before exam deadlines, the PRC LERIS site can become slow, hang, or show server errors.

How to Fix It

  • Try off peak hours: Access the site early morning or late at night.
  • Use stable internet: A strong connection reduces loading errors.
  • Clear cache and cookies: This helps fix page-loading issues.
  • Switch browsers: Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox works best with PRCs system.

7. Multiple Accounts or Duplicate Records

The Issue

Some applicants accidentally create more than one PRC account using different emails or personal details. This can cause confusion and even rejection of applications.

How to Fix It

Avoid duplication: Always use the same account for renewals, exams, or applications.
Request account merging: If you already created duplicates, email PRC technical support with proof of identity to merge accounts.
Bring documents: You may also need to visit PRC for in person assistance.

8. Appointment Slot Unavailable

The Issue

When booking an appointment, applicants often see “No Available Slot” messages, especially in high-demand PRC branches.

How to Fix It

  • Book early: Don’t wait until the last minute to schedule.
  • Check nearby branches: Sometimes, other PRC offices have available slots.
  • Keep refreshing: New slots may open if other applicants cancel.
  • Stay updated: Follow PRC’s official social media pages for announcements on slot availability.

9. Error in Exam Application

The Issue

Exam applicants sometimes encounter problems like submitting incomplete requirements, uploading wrong documents, or selecting the wrong examination type.

How to Fix It

  • Review exam details: Make sure you select the correct exam name, date, and location.
  • Upload proper documents: Only submit scanned copies of official documents such as Transcript of Records (with scanned picture and remarks “For Board Examination Purposes”) and valid IDs.
  • Visit PRC if needed: If you selected the wrong exam, contact PRC immediately to correct your application.

10. Unverified or Pending Transactions

The Issue

Applicants sometimes see their status stuck on “Pending” even after completing requirements. This can cause anxiety, especially close to deadlines.

How to Fix It

Be patient: Processing may take 24 to 48 hours.
Check email notifications: PRC usually sends confirmation updates.
Contact PRC support: If pending status lasts too long, call or email PRC with your reference number.

Tips to Avoid Common Errors

1. Prepare before registering Gather all your documents, ID details, and photo before starting the registration.
2. Use a reliable email and password Keep your login details safe for future use.
3. Follow instructions carefully PRC provides clear guidelines on the website; read them thoroughly.
4. Save proof of transactions Always keep copies of receipts, confirmation numbers, and screenshots.
5. Stay updated Follow official PRC channels for announcements and changes in procedures.
