PRC Exam Application Do’s and Don’ts Every Applicant Should Know

Applying for the Professional Regulation Commission licensure exam is one of the most important steps in the career journey of Filipino professionals. Whether you are taking the Nursing Licensure Examination, Civil Engineering Board Exam, Teacher’s Licensure Exam, or any other professional board examination, preparing correctly for the PRC exam application process is crucial.

With the PRC’s Licensure Examination and Registration Information System, applicants can now register online, schedule appointments, and submit requirements without the hassle of long lines. However, many applicants still commit mistakes that delay or even jeopardize their application.

To help you avoid common errors, Here is a comprehensive guide on the Do’s and Don’ts of PRC exam application that every applicant should know.

The Do’s of PRC Exam Application

1. Do Prepare All Your Documents Early

One of the best ways to ensure a smooth application is to prepare all required documents before logging into the PRC LERIS system.

Common requirements include:

  1. PSA issued Birth Certificate

  2. Transcript of Records with scanned photo and the remark “For Board Examination Purposes”

  3. Valid government issued ID

  4. Marriage Certificate (for married female applicants, if applicable)

  5. 2×2 ID photo (with strict PRC guidelines)

Note:- Keep both scanned digital copies (for online upload) and printed copies (for PRC submission).

2. Do Follow the PRC Photo Guidelines

PRC is very strict about applicant photos. Incorrect photos are one of the leading reasons for application delays.

Photo requirements:

White background

Formal attire (collared shirt/blouse)

No eyeglasses, hats, or accessories

Must be recently taken (within 6 months)

2×2 size, JPEG format, max 80kb

3. Do Use a Valid and Active Email Address

Your email is your primary communication channel with PRC. Application confirmation, payment details, and appointment schedules are all sent via email.

Always register with an email address that you check regularly and keep your login credentials safe.

4. Do Double Check Your Information Before Submitting

Errors in your name, birthday, or other personal details can lead to big problems. PRC requires that all details match your government-issued IDs and school records.

Before clicking “Submit,” carefully review every entry. Correcting errors later will require additional steps and supporting documents.

5. Do Pay Through Official Channels

PRC offers multiple payment options, including:

Land Bank ePayment Portal
GCash
PayMaya
BancNet ATMs
Over the counter at selected banks

Always pay only through authorized PRC payment channels to avoid scams and unverified transactions. Save the receipt or screenshot as proof of payment.

6. Do Book Your Appointment Early

Exam slots fill up quickly, especially in popular PRC branches. As soon as your application is approved, book your appointment for document submission and biometrics.

7. Do Dress Properly During PRC Transactions

When going to the PRC office for appointments, always dress neatly and appropriately. Sleeveless shirts, shorts, and slippers are not allowed. Professional attire creates a good impression and avoids delays in processing.

8. Do Arrive on Time for Your Appointment

PRC operates on a strict schedule. Arriving late may result in rescheduling or forfeiting your slot. Aim to arrive at least 30 minutes before your appointment to avoid stress.

9. Do Keep Track of Deadlines

The PRC sets deadlines for filing exam applications. Missing the deadline means waiting for the next examination schedule, which could delay your career goals. Always check PRC’s official website or Facebook page for updates.

10. Do Stay Updated with PRC Announcements

Follow PRC’s official channels for any changes in requirements, schedules, or health protocols. This helps you stay informed and avoid last-minute surprises.

The Don’ts of PRC Exam Application

1. Don’t Provide False or Inaccurate Information

Never use fake details or inaccurate records in your application. PRC cross checks all information with schools and government databases. False information can result in disqualification or even legal consequences.

2. Don’t Upload the Wrong Photo

Selfies, edited images, group photos, or casual pictures are not accepted. Incorrect photos will lead to rejection of your application. Always follow the official photo requirements strictly.

3. Don’t Wait Until the Last Minute

Many applicants procrastinate and rush their applications a few days before the deadline. This often leads to errors, unavailable slots, or technical issues with the system. Apply as early as possible to secure your spot.

4. Don’t Ignore Payment Confirmation

Some applicants fail to check if their payment was successful. Without confirmation, your application remains incomplete. Always verify your payment status in the PRC system and keep your receipt safe.

5. Don’t Create Multiple Accounts

Duplicate PRC accounts can cause serious issues, including delays and confusion in record verification. Always use the same account for all your PRC transactions. If you created duplicates by mistake, contact PRC to merge your accounts.

6. Don’t Use Weak or Forgotten Passwords

Losing access to your PRC LERIS account can cause delays. Avoid using passwords that are easy to forget. Write down your login details in a secure place and don’t share them with anyone.

7. Don’t Show Up Without Complete Requirements

Going to your appointment without the necessary documents wastes both your time and PRC’s time. Double-check your checklist before visiting the PRC office.

8. Don’t Violate Health and Security Protocols

If health protocols are in place (such as face masks or social distancing), make sure to follow them. Similarly, avoid bringing prohibited items inside the PRC premises.

9. Don’t Listen to Fixers or Unauthorized Agents

Some people claim they can fast track your application for a fee. These are scams. Only transact through the official PRC website or at authorized PRC offices.

10. Don’t Panic if You Encounter Errors

The PRC LERIS system may sometimes experience slow loading, errors, or unavailable slots. Don’t panic. Try again during off peak hours, clear your browser cache, or switch to another browser. If problems persist, contact PRC technical support.
